Well hey there friend! Glad you’ve found your way to Bake Me Higher. Let’s start out with who the heck I am and what this is all about.
THIS IS ME!

My name is Stacey. I’m a hard core New Englander at heart who is now in the high desert of Arizona. Moving from the 25 feet above sea level Portsmouth NH to 5,025 feet above sea level Prescott Valley AZ has posed some challenges to my favorite activity – BAKING. So here we are at Bake Me Higher. This isn’t your regular baking and cooking blog. I won’t be spamming you with stories about how my moms sisters husbands fathers cousin twice removed childhood friends aunt made this recipe and I just LOVE to make it for all my family and friends. This is just me having a place to document some of my favorite recipes, my fails and my successes at a higher altitude.
Okay, so where did this name come from? Do you ever get a song stuck in your head but you somehow start changing the words around and now you have a whole new song? That is exactly what happened here. Let’s take it back to 1999… and replace “take” with “bake” in the chorus and now you have the version of the song that got stuck in my head for weeks until I decided to make it into this lil blog we have here.
As I mentioned, this won’t be your average, every day recipe blog where you have to scroll forever to get to the recipe. I will absolutely post some of my favorites with a blurb about why I like it or how I found it. I’ll link you to the original blog if you want the recipe yourself, or write up the steps if it is something of my own creation or passed down family recipes. There will be some photos of things that look really delicious so please try not to lick your screen… but also some total fails that may not be so appetizing. Possibly burnt… exploded… big messes of… mush. If you love celebrating both fails and successes, you’ve come to the right place. Stay tuned for my first official food post – blueberry muffins!

Congratulations! I look forward to reading your blog and seeing all the yummy treats you make.
